Update 21: Post Banquet Wrap UP
(Wednesday, March 18, 2019)
Good Morning MAST Families and Coaches:
Thank you to Sabena Svedahl and her banquet planning committee and volunteers for organizing this year’s MAST banquet. It was a wonderful evening and I am so grateful that our community supports a festive end of year celebration to honor our athletes and their hard work, improvements, successes, and growth. Thank you. I hope people enjoyed the evening. I posted the three short movies we viewed on Sprongo. You can watch them again or for the first time by logging onto our Sprongo site.
Speaking of Sprongo. We still have a few athletes who have not set up a Sprongo account for themselves. I would really appreciate it if athletes would do this TODAY. The reason is that we have thousands of video clips on our Sprongo site. Each clip is assigned to a playlist (a month/day/year/event) AND to an athlete (once that athlete is TAGGED to the video clip). It is virtually impossible to find a videoclip of an untagged athlete long after it is posted to Sprongo. The coaches and I are going to be going back through the season over the next couple of weeks and trying to TAG all untagged videoclips. So, if you (the athlete) have not set up a Sprongo account for yourself, please do so today. The account needs to be set up using your first and last name—that is how we will tag you. So, no pseudonyms, aliases, nicknames, alter egos, etc. Keep it simple. You can also post a picture of yourself. If you have trouble setting up an account for yourself, call me: 612-275-8392.
Hyland Season Pass Pre-Sale
Please find below a list of athletes who have pre-paid for a 2019-2020 Hyland Season Pass. The deadline is next Tuesday. I will be going to Hyland on Wednesday to submit our order and payment. So, if you want to purchase a Hyland pass at the reduced rate of $399, please mail or drop off a check made payable to Mpls Alpine in the amount of $399. My address is: Mpls Alpine/4800 Harriet Ave. S./ 55419.
Summer Strength and Conditioning Program
Daniel and I are hoping to offer Summer Strength and Conditioning again this summer. I had the privilege of helping Daniel last summer and was very impressed with how carefully he taught proper lifting technique to athletes who were using weights for the first time. I also saw a lot of improvement in the speed, agility, and quickness in our athletes as the summer progressed. We do not yet have the details worked out for this summer’s program, nor the cost. Hopefully we will be able to get you these details in the second half of April. As we work out the plan, it would be helpful to know how many of you are interested in participating. All age groups are welcome... even 7th graders. PLEASE SEND DANIEL AND I AN EMAIL TELLING US THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE SUMMER STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM.
That’s all for now. If you are going skiing over Spring Break, have a great time and stay focused on continuing to develop your skills. If you aren’t going skiing, have fun doing whatever it is you will be doing.
In gratitude for a wonderful season,
