January 7, 2020, Race Results
Good Evening Ski Racing Fans!
Thank you to all the parents and coaches who worked so hard tonight in the cold to put on an excellent race. We completed just under 500 race runs in two hours. Quite remarkable. Our skiers performed very well as you will see when you look over the race results with a fine tooted comb. Race results are posted. Note the different tabs for individual and team scoring.
The Washburn Girls earned 6 wins and 0 defeats tonight, edging their fierce SW rivals by one measly point. The Washburn boys had a rather easy time of it, also going 6 and 0. The SW boys finished 4 and 2. Congratulations to Luke Conway, Zach Bion, Oliver Mueller, Willem Robertson, and Charlie Smith for taking the top five spots in the boys' race. Also finishing in the top ten: Ryan Arnold (7), Augie Bent (9), and Wilson Psotka (10). On the girls' side, Elsa Peterson and Addie Streble went one-two and then Quinn Jurek, Vada Arbeiter, Gabby Harritt, and Avery Taylor skied into the 4th through 7th spots respectively. Nahlah Mkaouri, Sonia Svedahl and Meghan Abel kept the competition further at bay with their 9th-11th place finishes. In other words, only two non-MAST girls made it into the top eleven. Only 2 non-MAST boys made it into the top ten. Well Done.
Hyland is making snow tomorrow and has informed all teams that we will not be able to set courses tomorrow. We will still be practicing. Plan on meeting on the South Chair. We have many things to work on so please show up even though we are not skiing gates. Practices are: Varsity 3:30-5:30; Varsity and JV 5-7: JV 6:30-8:30PM. Yes, we are shortening practices by 15 minutes tomorrow.
See you then.
