Back by popular demand, we bring you the MAST Parent Party and Workshop! For those of you unfamiliar with this event, last year we combined the parent kick off meeting, the volunteer workshop and the parent social into ONE BIG PARTY! Attend workshops on everything from ‘What is Ski Racing’ to ‘Advanced Ski Tuning’ and more. We’ll have chili & cornbread, beer & wine. AND start training for the Second Annual All Parent Race. Jeremy Graff and Greg Abel will be defending their title, and the right to hold onto The Golden Ski. WHEN: Sunday, October 14 from 3:00-7:00* WHERE: The Tanner’s Home at 18 Park Lane on Cedar Lake in Minneapolis (some activities will be outside, dress appropriately) WHO: MAST parents new and ‘experienced’ WHY: Because it will be fun, you’ll see old friends and meet new ones, and you’ll learn a thing or two! *Workshops will be offered from 3:15-6:00. Our Second Annual All Parent Race will be from 6:00-7:00

WORKSHOPS Race Course 101 – Your athlete will be zooming down a race course in (hopefully) half a minute or so. Blink, it’s over. We’ll enlighten you as to what happens in those fleeting moments, from the start to the finish. Dress appropriately, you’ll be outside! Please sign up HERE (Times are 3:30-4:00, 4:30-5:00) How to Be a Gatekeeper – Gatekeeping is one of the best volunteer gigs at a race! You have front row seats to the athletes whizzing by. Mark Conway will teach you everything you need to know about how to be a gatekeeper, no keys required. Dress appropriately, you’ll be outside! Please sign up HERE (Times are 4:00-4:30, 5:00-5:30) Ski Tuning 1.0 – You just spent big bucks on your athletes’ skis. Ensure their kept with TLC throughout the season. Joel Hedrick will expertly teach you the finer points of ski tuning, including sharpening and waxing. Daniel Polland will explain excellent race technique, so you know what to be looking for when your athlete is zipping through the course at Mach 7.
