Hello MAST Athletes, Parents, Friends, and Coaches:

It will not be a pattern to send a MAST Update two days in a row. Nonetheless, a couple of quick announcements, encouragements and requests...because it is important, urgent, and you love it when you hear from me.
First, would you please help us sell out the Mr. Paul’s Pasta Dinner Fundraiser. We have a lot of seating available at the 6PM time-slot. The 7:30 time-slot is filling up more quickly, but tables remain open at this time as well. Please forward an invitation with the flyer to anyone you know who...1) might enjoy a pasta dinner at a very reasonable price (you don’t even leave a tip), 2) would like to support life-changing opportunities for our young people so they can grow up to be outstanding citizens, 3) would appreciate a night out with someone they love, and/or 4) need a break from cooking or doing dishes. And if you are free on Monday evening, October 9, please treat yourself and your family to a festive night of food and conversation at Mr. Paul’s Supper Club.

Second, we are close to filling the golf carts for our MASTers Golf Tournament on Thursday at Hiawatha golf course. Please arrive to check in between 3PM and 3:45PM.  We would like to be ready to race off to our assigned first tees promptly at 4PM. I THINK we can still accept more participants, so if you are willing to give it a go, please follow the links below to sign up.

Third, I was informed by Hyland/Three Rivers Park District today that they would like all season pass holders to complete and sign an online Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability Waiver this year. In the past, we have sign and submitted paper waivers. So this is your task: please follow the link below to complete the waiver for your athlete if your athlete is under age 18. I believe that any athletes who have already reached the age of 18 should sign the waiver himself/herself. Hyland will not release the season pass to folks until the waiver is signed. Our season pass pick up date is Monday, November 13th so we do have some time. But if you can get it done sooner than later, I don’t need to keep repeating this message over the next six weeks. Even if you haven’t purchased your pass yet, you can sign the waiver. Hyland will be sending me a link to track the names of those who have signed the waiver. Here is the link to complete the waiver.

Fourth, I did enter the email addresses of everyone who attended the “Orientation” presentation last night. However, some of the email addresses I entered would not allow you to be added to our google groups address book. I would ask EVERYONE who is reading this to check with ALL family members who should be receiving our updates to see if they received THIS one. If someone didn’t, the problem might be that your email is set to not allow me to directly add or even invite you to join our google group account. Consequently, you will need to change your settings to so I can add or invite you to our google group. Once you make that change, please notify me and I will add/invite you to our account.

Also, MAST updates are currently being blocked by the MPS firewall from reaching your MPSEDU inbox. I’m trying to work with the district to allow our emails to come to your MPSEDU inbox. Until this effort is successful, make sure you are receiving these updates in a personal email account or through your parents. I would hate to have you miss one word of these treasured, memorable, and timeless “letters” of common sense and virtue.

Finally, for those who could not attend our “Orientation to HS Racing and MAST” presentation in person, I will post a narrated slideshow of the presentation over the weekend to the homepage of our website. I may get it posted sooner, but I don’t want to make a promise I can’t keep.
