Happy Halloween.
I just discovered this short video from Deb Armstrong that she created in the last week. She gives us an insiders view of the opening World Cup race in Soelden, Austria. Deb won Gold at the 1984 Olympics in Giant Slalom as a 20 year old. She now makes fantastic instructional videos for races. Last year, we started directing you to watch Deb's videos. This year, we will not only direct you to watch her videos, we will be administering tests and giving out grades. You will not get into a good college if you fail these tests. Coach Will, can you post this video on our website as well? Everyone: Coach Will already posted Mikaela's winning runs from Soelden at www.mplsalpineski.org. Scroll to the bottom of the page to view. She is technically the best female skier of all time, and possible the best in either gender. And if you want to become a student of the sport of skiing in general and ski racing specifically, subscribe to Deb Armstrong's youtube channel. She is a master teacher. You will find that your MAST coaches will be saying the same things to you all season long, but with a lot more background noise and distractions and we will be talking with frozen lips and you will be wearing a helmet to make it hard for you to hear us eloquently express our ski racing knowledge. Here is the link to her Deb Armstrong's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpzqLEPUeIM&ab_channel=DebArmstrong Don't forget to sell coffee and salsa this week, get registered with MPS Athletics, and take your concussion baseline test. To those of you who created testing spots #21, 22 and beyond at Washburn: You need to change your time or date. There are only 20 computers in the testing space. That's why there were only 20 sign up spots. Have a great week everyone. Mark Comments are closed.
