MAST UPDATE #5
TUESDAY, October 19, 2021 Dear MAST Athletes, Parents, and Coaches: Thank you to all the coaches, board members, parents and captains who helped with the MAST Equipment Swap last Saturday. We had great weather, a lot of gear, and a strong turnout. I missed the good donuts though. Got stuck with one of those with Captain Crunch toppings. YUCK! Who thought of putting Captain Crunch on top of a perfectly good donut? If you were unable to find the equipment you need, Team Gilboa is having a swap at Hyland starting Friday, October 29. I recommend being there when it opens to give yourself the most options. I have money for some of you which I will send to you USPS. For those who dropped off equipment but didn’t pick it up on Saturday, please contact me so we can get it out of my basement. Thanks. Registration With MAST As of this morning, we have 107 athletes registered with MAST, 29 of you are new to the team. RETURNING ATHLETES: Please register with MAST ASAP—maybe before you leave to go out of town over MEA break. We are filling up and I may need to close registration before my self-imposed deadline of Oct 31. So, if you are a returning MAST athlete: THIS IS YOUR LAST CALL. If you are new to MAST and are still undecided, please give me a call so I can address your questions and hesitation. Or just register HERE. If you would like to read any of the previously sent MAST Updates, Click HERE for past MAST Update. And know that you can quickly get a lot of information on MAST by reading our 2021-22 MAST Fact Sheet HERE. And the powerpoint presentation “Orientation to High School Ski Racing and MAST” is downloadable on the homepage of our website. Registration With MPS Online registration for Winter Sports is ready to go. Remember, most of you have paid the MPS Activity Fee. Don't pay a second time when you register with MPS. You should be able to submit your MPS registration without paying the activity fee, so if you run into any trouble, please call me. REGISTER WITH MPS HERE Individual Fundraising Kick Off: Sunday, October 24 at 6PM. Sorry if we upset your calendar by postponing the Individual Fundraiser Kick-Off by one week. Note that we are meeting at 6PM. This year you can sell both coffee and salsa to friends, neighbors, family members and perfect strangers to raise money to support your very healthy pursuits with Mpls Alpine. The money you raise can help pay for supplemental training, the Giants Ridge Camp, MAST apparel, the MAST Banquet, team fees, or even your Hyland Season Pass. The coffee come from Urban Ventures and the salsa is produced locally by MinneSalsa. Join us on the 24th for more information about how to participate. Look for a link to log in to the meeting in your MPS calendar and MPS email inbox. I will send a reminder email on Sunday morning as well. Season Pass Purchase If you ordered a Hyland Hills Season Pass at registration, please don’t forget to mail a check made payable to Mpls Alpine in the amount of $455 to: Mpls Alpine Ski Team 4800 Harriet Ave S Mpls MN 55419. The deadline for purchasing a season pass through MAST is October 27. Have a relaxing and rejuvenating break. Mark Conway 612-275-8392 [email protected] Comments are closed.
