Hello MAST Athletes & Families! Temps are supposed to drop tomorrow night and stay that way, which is great snow-making weather! We’re hoping to ski soon after Thanksgiving. That means Monday and Tuesday could be our final two Dryland sessions. To ensure we’re ready to go, please read this entire update carefully. We all want to be on snow, but please keep showing up and working hard at Dryland. It would be awesome to see 80 kids at Dryland on Monday and Tuesday! Coach Joel has been focusing on teaching visualization strategies to the athletes. All elite skiers use this skill to help reduce anxiety and be more prepared for the race course. We don’t have time to teach this when on snow, and if you don’t show up you will not have the opportunity to learn and practice visualizing. See you all Monday and Tuesday! *** Coaches Corner*** What a great week of Dryland. I want to congratulate each and everyone one of you who attended our sessions on relaxation and guided imagery. You’ve shown intense focus, patience, trust, and the coachable spirit required to elevate all aspects of your training and skiing experience. We will be implementing more imagery this week. If you are struggling to stay in focus, I would suggest you spend some time watching videos of the skills we are focusing on.
