Hello MAST Family, What an incredible regular race season it’s been! From fast-paced and sometimes long races to the support and energy from all our families, it has been a season to remember. While the official race season has ended for many, the practicing, support and fun has not. Be sure to READ ALL THE WAY THROUGH to see this week’s schedule… Hello COSTUME PRACTICE! In the true spirit of MAST and the heart of our team, we were so touched to receive this message and video (attached) from a parent at Hill-Murray. It's always rewarding to hear how our athletes represent not only their skills on the slopes but their character off them as well. Here's what she had to say: ”I am a parent of a varsity alpine ski racer at Hill-Murray. I captured the end of this moment last night shortly after our boys received first place over Washburn by a very tight 9 points. It was so incredibly heartwarming to see your boys come up and congratulate our team. What an OUTSTANDING show of sportsmanship!!! I was also standing near a group of them at the finish cheering one another on and interacting with some of our boys. They are all talented racers and living your vision of “exceptional citizens”. We look forward to seeing them again at sections!” Now, as we take a well-earned rest, we’re gearing up to cheer on our athletes at the Section Finals. We can’t wait to see all the hard work and dedication come to life yet again! PARENT SLALOM Race Results - see attached A special shout-out to everyone who joined in for our lively Parent Slalom Social on Friday night – it was a fantastic evening of fun and camaraderie! Our athletes and coaches were amazing, offering great instruction and encouragement to our parent racers, making the night even more memorable. The event came with a handy Run Order, allowing spectators to chant names and really get into the spirit of things! By the end of the first run, the crowd was buzzing: “WHO IS THAT? Oh, that’s gotta be Jeff Hemer!”—and the same happened when Megan Hadley took her turn. Turns out, they’re the ones you can’t help but notice! No surprise, taking home the honor of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd were Megan Hadley, Dani Leger, and Therese Gibbons for the ladies and Jeff Hemer, Jeff Elden, and Brandon Kalland for the men. Thanks to our parent volunteers for organizing and executing this last-minute event. We had a blast, great feedback, and plan to bring it back next season as a prominent fundraiser and social event! SKI JUMP VOLUNTEER OPP - Feb. 15 - Let’s return the love! Calling all MAST skiers/ family for a fun volunteer gig! The ski jump is looking for 5-6 skiers to help at their big jump event in the afternoon & evening of Feb 15. They’re looking for people who are comfortable on skis to help maintain the landing hill and keep it decorated. This should be an easy task and a fun way to get involved.
