Good Morning MAST Athletes:
Since we did not practice yesterday, TODAY is the new last day to turn in your orders for Coffee and Salsa. Look for Kirsten/Mike/Hope/Melissa in the chalet when you arrive. And please say THANK YOU to them for managing this fundraiser. See you tonight. Fresh snow to ski on. Meet on top of Lanes B and C tonight. Mark Good Morning:
Rejoice. We have snow falling. Life in Minnesota is good. 1. Practice is at HYLAND today for all pods. The location for one practice had mistakenly been listed as Afton. Do NOT drive to Afton looking for a MAST practice today. 2. TODAY is the last day to turn in your order forms and payments for our individual fundraiser. Look for our wonderful parent volunteers in the chalet when you arrive for practice tonight. They will be faithfully and patiently waiting at a table near the entrance closest to the stairs that bring you up to the hill. 3. Parents: please remember that we have a Parent Social on Sunday from 4-6PM at Dual Citizen Brewing, 725 Raymond Ave, St Paul. A food truck will be onsite to enrich your experience even more. And then when you get home, log into our RACE WORKER TRAINING AT 7PM. Dec 4 Race Worker Training Link 4. The bus for Supplemental Training on Saturday Dec 3 is filled. I am closing down registration. You are welcome to join us if you have a parent willing to drive you. I don't want any athletes driving themselves however. Send me an email if you want to attend and a parent will be driving you. You will just need to buy a lift ticket. Registration is open for the Dec 10 Supplemental Training. Click Here to Register for the Dec 10 22 Supplemental Training at Wild Mt. See you tonight. Drive with extra care. Traffic will be fierce so you are forgiven today if you are late. Look for us on Lanes 5 and 6 off the North Chair. Mark Good Afternoon:
Yes, alpine IS included in the cancelation of after school activities. I tried to get the district office to exempt alpine, but have not received a response. So, unless you hear from me again this afternoon with a different message, alpine practice is canceled. I wish it wasn't so. Tune your skis. Watch Deb Armstrong instructional videos. Be with your family. Eat a meal together. Do the dishes. Take out the garbage. Clean your room. Clean your bathroom. Play with your younger sibling. Do a core workout. Go to bed early. Study our drills to build the skills videos. Shovel the walks and driveway without being asked. Clean the snow off the windshields of any cars sitting outside. Take the dog for a walk. Take my dog for a walk. Enjoy the beauty of an early winter snowstorm. See you tomorrow. Mark Hi everyone,

Dear MAST Athletes, Parents, Coaches, Friends: Hyland opened on Tuesday with 100% of their runs open. This is the earliest in my lifetime that Hyland has been open fully this early in the season. We did not waste this opportunity. MAST was the only high school team to train this week. Four practices. Great turn out. We took advantage of the open terrain on the North Chair to focus on the first two fundamental skills: Balance and Athletic Stance AND Early Lower Leg Engagement. This week, we will continue to work on developing your balance and stance and your ability to use your lower legs to create edge angle from the transition to the fall line. We will also be working to your skill of using outside ski pressure (extension of the outside leg) and skiing with a disciplined upper body. Video demonstrations of the drills we will be using this week are uploaded to Sprongo: Week Three Drills to Build the Skills Please watch these clips. Study them. Good Afternoon MAST Families: We are off to a good start with dryland training. As your athlete may have told you, we have introduced 30 minutes of Character Skills Training into our practices this week. Yesterday, Coach Joel worked with the athletes on the process of setting goals. Daniel will be working with our skiers on the skill of visualization during today's practice. On Tuesday, I spoke with the athletes about The MAST Way. Attached is a handout that provides a bit of detail about my message. Should make for awesome dinner conversation tonight with the family. Hyland announced that they would be open next week beginning on Tuesday. If it looks like there will be ample runs open to offer a safe skiing environment, we will practice on Tuesday evening(time TBD) and Wednesday morning from 9am-11am. We will also practice Friday and Saturday from 9am-11am . I know a lot of folks will be out of town next week, so enjoy your holiday. If you are in town, I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to ski next week. Finally, Today is Give to the Max Day! Many of you have already given generously to MAST this year when you registered your athlete. I thank you for that. Give to the Max Day is another opportunity to make a donation to your favorite ski team. My understanding is that some companies match employee contributions. Please know we are a 501c3 in very good standing with the Secretary of State. We welcome any contribution you can make. Also, I use this opportunity to send a letter to our alumni families every year and they always respond generously. Feel free to pass this along to anyone whom you think might be interested. Here is a link to donate: MAST GIVE TO THE MAX DAY. I will be sending out information about registering for camp before the end of the day tomorrow. Stay tuned. Thanks. Mark Conway 612-275-8392

If you have any questions or need to make other arrangements please let me know. Thanks! Karin George 612-308-7858 Instructions for adding athlete's to Team Snap.... THANK YOU SARAH FOR FIGURING THIS OUT!!!11/15/2022
Hello MAST Parents, Here are the steps to add your child (or grandparent, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, or any MAST fan you would like) to TeamSnap. First a parent must be able to log in to TS. Both my husband & I were able to log in without problem using the emails we used when we registered our MAST athlete, and the emails we’ve previously used with TeamSnap. 1) Go to your TS Dashboard, Select your MAST athlete’s pod/team. 2) Select “Roster", then click your child’s profile. 4) Fill out athlete’s name & email address (use their personal email, NOT their MPS email). Also, if your child has previously joined TeamSnap for other teams, it will save you a lot of time and energy if you use that same email associated with TeamSnap. 5) Scroll to the bottom of the page, make sure "Invite to Join" is select, and click Save. 6. And your athlete should then receive an email like the one below.
Welcome to the team! Congratulations, Maddie! You've been added to Washburn Girls Pod 10 on TeamSnap. Want to be a hero to your team manager? Take a minute to update your roster profile by adding your phone number and any family members that you'd like to keep in the loop. Update Your Profile Good Afternoon MAST Coaches and Athletes:
The snow is welcome, but the conditions for training outdoors are not as safe as I would like. Training is moved INDOORS. For our middle school, SW, Roosevelt, and South athletes, go to the parking lot off of 49th street. The doors are magnetically locked so we cannot open them from the inside. I am told to instruct you to go to Door 3 first (community education entrance which is by the stairs going from the parking lot to the field next to the stadium). If Door 3 is locked, go to Door 5 which is in the corner by the dumpsters. If Door 5 is locked then go to Door 10 which is on the 50th street side of the building. We will be moving and grooving so wear good, sturdy athletic footwear and clothing. Bring a water bottle. Be ON TIME Please. Middle Schoolers: you are forgiven if you are running late. High Schoolers: you are not. See you soon. Mark |
