Sunday, September 20, 2026 Dear MAST Athletes & Caregivers: Welcome the new athletes/families to MAST who have expressed interest in our team! If you haven’t already, make sure to check out our MAST Fact Sheet. Our means of communicating with our athletes and families is through email. Our sport is more complicated than most, but also more rewarding once you settle in for the journey. Unfortunately, we are unable to add “mpsedu” email addresses to our google groups address book. Parents, please share these updates with your athlete, and if you have an additional email address for your student, please let us know so we can add them to our distribution list. We have a lot coming up! Equipment: Assess your equipment needs now All racers need SLALOM skis and racing boots. Learn about the equipment you need and how to size and select equipment on our website: MAST Equipment Info Check out our Ski Swap Inventory first. Here is where MAST skiers list their used equipment for sale. Check back often, as new items are posted weekly during the Fall period. And if you are a MAST skier (current or alum) who wants to sell your skis, boots, poles, GS Suit, whatever, fill out the Mast Equipment Swap Sale Form and then send photos to Bill Bray at [email protected] to get them posted now, before teammates start shopping elsewhere. If you sell an item, please let Bill know to remove it from the posting so you aren’t bothered by more requests. Ski Swaps available for purchasing USED ski equipment: Be very clear you are shopping for a MAST alpine racer shopping for Slalom race gear. Ask for a salesperson who is knowledgeable in ski race gear. The race stuff goes fastest so you are far more likely to find things if you go on the early end.
MLK Giants Ridge Race - plan ahead and book accommodations now Race dates are forthcoming, but one we know about and always like to plan in advance for is the MLK Giants Ridge Race Saturday, January 16th. Those invited will be the top 6-7 boys and girls in each of the three schools: Washburn, Southwest, and MAST (which is all other schools). If you think your athlete might be selected to attend, it is suggested to secure accommodations in or near Biwabik or Virginia, MN that can be cancelled. Lodging fills earlier than you would think and some of our racers have had trouble finding accommodations if they wait until rosters are announced. IMPORTANT DATES
