Hello MAST Athletes, Coaches, Parents and Friends:
First, I have some good news to share. Coach Daniel is a FATHER! Early yesterday morning, Daniel's wife Sophie gave birth to an 8 pound 6 ounce 20 inch long girl named Adalee Blair Polland. What a joyous day! Congratulations to Sophie and Daniel and welcome Adalee to the world. If you would like to send Daniel and Sophie a card, here is their address: 1010 156th St E Burnsville 55306 Second, the athletic directors have asked me to send out a survey to our athletes. The survey is part of an investigation into Title IX violations by MPS. Most if not all the questions in the survey are not applicable to alpine skiing, but if you can take a few minutes over the weekend to fill out the survey anyway, I'm sure that the district would be appreciative. Answer the questions the best you can. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MPS_StudentAthletes Finally, a great big thank you to everyone who volunteered to shovel out the horse barn stalls at the State Fair on the 15th. I understand you set a State Fair speed record. Congratulations and Thank You. Enjoy the beautiful weekend ahead. Mark Happy Mother's Day!

Good Afternoon MAST Athletes, Parents, Coaches and Friends: Sometimes people make mistakes. We were just notified that the MN State Fair gave us the wrong date for the Horse Barn Clean Out Extravaganza. The correct date is MONDAY, MAY 15TH. Shoveling begins at 6PM. Because May is a very busy month with sports, concerts, exams and, of course, Mothers’ Day, we are humbly asking all of you to look at your calendar to see if you are still free and willing to shovel on Monday, May 15th instead of May 8th. And if you are free and still willing to help us raise – NOT $3000, but YES-- $3500, then please RE-REGISTER for this great fundraising opportunity. You filled all 60 spots for the 8th and my hope is that you will be able to do this again for the 15th. We won’t be committing to the Fair until we know that we have at least 40 people to work this fundraiser. PLEASE re-register by Friday, May 5th at Noon if at all possible. NEW—HORSE BARN Fundraiser Sign UP- MAY 15TH I will let you know on the weekend if we have enough volunteers to make a commitment to the Fair. I feel like I was cruising along enjoying the feel of my perfectly carved GS turns on a wide open blue run at Big Sky (perhaps Bighorn) to suddenly find myself breaking over a blind knoll onto a double black diamond filled with giant moguls (perhaps Outhouse at Winter Park). Time to put on the brakes and re-adjust. Hope we can still make this work. Thanks all and sorry for the inconvenience. Mark |
