Good Evening All:
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to work the fundraiser on May 8th . We have 34 athletes, parents and coaches who have committed to clean the horse barn next Monday. We need six more of you to sign up by the morning for us to be fully confident that we can handle the work load. We would really like another 16 to 26, but 6 will be enough to give it a go. Here's a link: https://signup.com/client/invitation2/secure/132555998066/false#/invitation Thanks everyone. I look forward to seeing you on the 8th. Mark Good Evening MAST Athletes, Parents, Coaches and Friends:
On Monday, May 8th, we have an opportunity to raise $3000 for MAST. Yup, shoveling you-know-what out of the horse barn stalls. Last year, this took about three hours to complete with 40 of you working. This year we would like to get 50 to 60 of you to sign up to lighten the burden a bit. We have not yet committed to take on this sensory overloading experience, but will need to say 'Yes' or 'No' on Monday morning. We need to have a commitment from 40 people to say YES. This gives us three days to see if we have enough willing shovelers in our group to accept the challenge. Now you may ask yourself, "how will we use this money?" I have a good answer. We need to buy a new Brower Timing System if we want to continue to hold races at Hyland next year and into the future. A couple of weeks ago I was informed by Hyland's management that the ski area will no longer provide timing services for races. The timing building will still be available for teams to hold races, but teams will need to provide their own timing equipment and timing personnel. We have two systems, but one is over twelve years old and is unreliable. The other one is much newer and is very reliable. So we need to buy a second "newer" one if we want to continue to race other teams at Hyland. Here are the details on the fundraiser. What? State Fair Horse Barn Cleaning Fundraiser. When? Monday, May 8, 6PM-9PM (based on last year's experience). Where? Horse Barn at the State Fair Grounds (Judson Avenue-next to the Sheep Barn). How? Gloves and shovels will be provided or you can bring your own (BYOGAS). Food? Pizza and Beverages will also be provided. Why? To raise $3000 to be used to purchase a new Brower Timing System. Who? Anyone willing to work: athletes, siblings, parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents. How? Sign up by clicking on the link. Easy. MAST Fundraiser Sign UP- Horse Barn Cleaning I will let you know on Monday if we have enough volunteers to make a commitment to the Fair. I hope all of you are doing well. Mark |
