Good Noon Day Everyone:
Today is MAST Equipment Day at Pierce. Looking forward to seeing many of you this afternoon and evening. One tip: cue up your best run from last season off of Sprongo onto your phone. Sometimes it helps when the technicians can see video of your skiing. Just is case you can't remember whether you purchased a pass in the spring, I am also attaching a list of folks who bought season passes back in the spring. Have a great day. Mark 612-275-8392 MAST UPDATE #3 TUESDAY, October 5, 2021 Dear MAST Athletes, Parents and Coaches: Thank you to everyone who was able to join our Orientation to MAST and Alpine Ski Racing Webinar on Sunday. I hope it was informative. If you missed this event, look for the Orientation To MAST and Alpine Ski Racing PowerPoint Presentation, complete with narration, sometime later this week on our website. I'll alert you by email when it is posted. One thing I forgot to mention in the webinar: WE LOVE HAVING 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS JOIN MAST. And we have a large group of them. Two years ago we had sixty 7th and 8th graders. They are now in 9th and 10th grade and they are really good skiers because we were able to focus our energy on learning the fundamentals of the sport. And I think it is safe for me to say, they are glad they joined young. So, if you are on the fence and thinking about waiting until you enter high school to join MAST, I encourage you to go for it. Join MAST. Please Join Us for the 2nd Annual MASTers Golf Tournament When was the last time I golfed you ask? Last year at the inaugural MASTers Golf Tournament and I had a blast, even though I am a terrible golfer. My wife and I were paired with two wonderful MAST parents (Rhonda and Dan Geere), and we laughed our way through nine holes of play in a driving windstorm. It was perfect. Very Caddyshack-Like without the rain and lightening. No skill necessary. I certainly didn’t possess any. So, I encourage you to sign up. You will have a terrific time and you will be helping out our team financially. Where: Hiawatha Golf Course When: Thursday, October 14, 3PM Shotgun Start. How: SIGN-UP HERE We are also excited to be holding a raffle at the event for a chance to win incredible prizes. But we need YOU to help provide them – just make sure they’re incredible! Get out and exercise athletes! Mark Conway markrobertconway58@gmail.com 612-275-8392 PS. I have worked diligently to add all email addresses that come to us through our various forms to our google-groups address book. Please check with all family members to be sure that everyone is receiving these wonderfully entertaining and informative updates. Also, sometimes we find that computers and security apps block our emails from people's inbox. It might help to add mplsalpine@gmail.com as a contact in your address book. You can include my phone number as well. And let me know if someone needs to be added. Good Evening MAST Athletes, Interested Skiers, Parents and Fans:
Don't forget to log into our FIRST MAST Webinar of the pre-season. The topic is Orientation to Ski Racing and MAST. In less than 60 minutes, you will be given a crash course in Minnesota high school alpine ski racing AND the Minneapolis Alpine Ski Team. Every neuron in your brain will be called on to absorb and process the unimaginable volumes of information that will be lovingly communicated starting promptly at 4PM. You do not want to miss this opportunity to learn about how we do things on MAST, and why and where and how. And some "who" questions will get answered as well. Hopefully, all athletes who have filled out either the MAST Email Form, the New Athlete Inquiry Form, or the MAST Registration Form have received an invitation to join this google-meet event. The invitation should have come in your MPS email inbox. Please look for it. Then, tomorrow... at 3:57PM or before... log into your MPS email account and join the meeting. You all probably know how to do this better than I do since you had to do this all last year. PARENTS: Please join us as well but log in with your athlete using his or her MPS email. If you can't log in for some reason using your athlete's MPS email, then use this link to access the meeting. I can't guarantee this is going to work however. Hello Again: Sorry for the abundance of emails....Many of you are discovering that winter sports are not yet available for registration at the MPS registration site. Sorry for the confusion. I was told it was ready to go, but apparently it has not been activated yet. As soon as I hear that it is ready to accept registrations, I will let you know. Also, it appears that some of our new families are not receiving MAST emails. I am not sure what is going on here. I have been faithfully adding emails to our MAST Google-Groups address book all Fall, but apparently some of the entries are not sticking. I will re-enter all the new emails that I have. For now, if you know a new family who is interested in MAST, could you please forward the latest emails to them just to make sure they are in the know. Go ahead and apologize for the hiccup on my behalf. Finally, some of you have forgotten whether you purchased a season pass in the Spring. Attached is the list of folks who did just that. Thanks Mark 612-275-8392
Good Morning: It has come to my attention that the links in the PDF version of the Registration Instructions do not work. It appears though that they DO WORK in the doc version. So, USE THE FULLY OPERATIONAL 2021-22 REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS_FINAL.docx attached. And if you have any issues, feel free to call me. I don't want anyone to waste time trying to troubleshoot my error. Good luck, Mark 612-275-8392
