State Meet Report
I posted a report on the 2017 MN State High School Alpine Championships on our website, along with a link to the results. Please read. Our athletes did everything the coaches asked of them and more. For some, the results were satisfying, for others, disappointing. Nonetheless, we all had a marvelous two days together. I couldn’t have been more proud of our skiers, parents and coaches. www.mplsalpineski.org
Section IV Championship and State Meet Photos
Several professional photographers shot pictures at both the Section IV Championships and the State Meet. Listed below are links to the websites of these photographers. I encourage everyone to browse through these photos. It can be a wonderful learning experience just to carefully compare and contrast the body positions of different skiers. You can learn a lot. You can identify the top skiers in the race by looking up their bib numbers in the results. Notice things like edge angle, shoulder-arm-hand position, long leg-short leg, ankle flex, outside ski pressure, angle of attack, and hip and ankle alignment.
State Meet Photos From Mark Trockman (Isaac’s Uncle and Dan’s Brother):
Dan and Mark have identified all the MAST skiers. All you have to do is type is the athlete’s name and the photo(s) will pop up. These are excellent pictures. I encourage you to buy them. You will appreciate having them later in life… trust me.

MAST Race Bibs and Lawn Signs
If you have a MAST Race Bib in your possession, please bring it to the banquet or drop it off at my home: 4800 Harriet Ave. S.. If you have a MAST sign in your front yards, you can store it safely and carefully until next fall when we give the cue to set it outside again. Or, you can bring it to the banquet and one of us will store it for the off-season. Or you can drop it off at my house and I will store it for the off-season: 4800 Harriet Ave. S. Seniors: if you wish, you can keep your sign as a souvenir from your time with MAST.
Lost and Found
I have four items on my porch that belong to others from the team. I encourage you to contact me if any of them belong to you. Many are likely from the State Meet, but they could be from other events because most of them were left in the MAST trailer at some point in the season.

Welch Season Pass Sale
Welch Village is offering a $149 season pass this spring. If you have a big family, you might consider a family pass for $649. These are unbelievable prices for a season pass. I cannot guarantee that we will be training at Welch a lot next winter. It depends on whether they continue to want to charge us a lane fee for training there. We hope to train at least once and race at least once as we did this year. Here is a link for more information:
Hyland Hills Season Pass Sale
Hyland Hills is offering a $375 season pass for next season if purchased before the end of Hyland’s season, which may be soon given the lack of snow depth. If you would like to avoid paying sales tax, please bring a check to the banquet made payable to Mpls Alpine for $375 or mail a check to our Treasurer, Drew Lamosse at 4928 Washburn Ave. S., Mpls 55410. You can also buy the pass directly from Hyland/Three Rivers Park District online or in person:
Well… that is a lot of information. I hope all of you are continuing to ski. Although the temps have been warm, the ski areas are still open. You can always work on some aspect of your skiing and get yourself better for next year. Thank you to everyone on MAST who helped make this season so fantastic for our athletes. There are too many of you to recognize here, but you need to know how grateful I am to you for your assistance all season. What a big-hearted, generous group you are!!!!
See you Sunday.
