We have an exciting race scheduled for tomorrow against the always tough Hastings boys and girls. I just learned that Northfield will be joining us as well. The weather is supposed to clear by morning and the conditions at Welch should be fantastic tomorrow evening.
Attached are the run orders for MAST Boys/Girls and SW Boys/Girls for tomorrow's race. If you are not on the run order and still wish to race, please send me an email AT MY PERSONAL EMAIL: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are ON the run order and your plans have changed and you cannot race, please let Elora know by text or phone: 612-508-2554.
Here are the logistics for tomorrow. We have TWO BUSES.
Bus 1 will pick up from Southwest HS ( assume on 47th street in front of school) at 2:15PM.
Bus 2 will pick up from Washburn (49th and Pleasant) at 2:15PM.
I will seek a 2PM early release for everyone entered from Washburn and SW.
I will seek a 1:45 early release for all the middle school students entered in the race as well as the South students. This should allow you enough time to get to either the Washburn or SW loading site.
Skis, Boots and Gear
We will be carrying skis and other gear in the MAST trailer. You have three opportunities to load gear in the MAST trailer.
1. Meet Joel at Pershing Park between 7:30 and 8AM.
2. Meet ME at my home between 7:30 and 8:10AM.
3. Meet the MAST trailer at Washburn no later than 2:15PM (49th and Pleasant). The SW pick up site will NOT have a trailer and the buses will not allow you to bring skis or poles onto the buses.
If you wish, you can take your boots with you to school and store them in your locker to keep them warm. Just don't forget them in the afternoon.
Parents: if you are planning on attending the race and would be willing to do course work or gate judge, please let me know directly: email@example.com.
We are racing on Dan's Dive, which is a fantastic slalom pitch. Inspection will open at 4:15 and the race will begin at 5. There will be two courses set. Boys and girls will race simultaneously and then switch courses for the second run. You will have time for a short slide-slip inspection in between first and second runs. We will load and depart very soon after the second run concludes and the hill is cleaned up. I would ask everyone to stay out and help with clean up.
I am so glad we get to race at Welch. It is a challenging but fun race venue and the Hastings and Northfield teams will be a great test for our four squads.
I am heading down to Welch around 12:30 in the afternoon to help set courses and get things in order for the race.
