We had one fantastic day at Welch yesterday. Thank you to ALL the athletes, coaches and parents who brought their hard work, enthusiasm and skill to Goodhue County yesterday. It was a superhuman effort by so many of you to pull off a meal at negative temps in the middle of a parking lot. Congratulations to Odin Mueller for his second place finish in the boys varsity race. Liam Huyen and Logan Griggs finished just off the podium in 11th and 12th places. Congratulations to Oliver Mueller for his commanding victory in the JV race. This was his first win of his storied alpine career. Congratulations to Elsa Peterson (4th), Peyton Smith (5th) and Rachel Tanner (6th) for your strong performances in the girls' race. And a BIG congratulations to the Southwest Girls Varsity Squad of Elsa, Peyton, Rachel, Sophie Hedrick(13), Addie Strebble(19), Ava Flaskamp (28), Julia DeGeorgeo (36) and Billie Forester (64) for your VICTORY in the Team Competition. This is the second year in a row that they have won the Welch Invitational. Well done. Keep working hard. The MAST girls came very close to repeating as the third place winners at Welch... they finished just a few point back in fourth this year.
We are heading back to Welch on Tuesday to race against Hastings. This will be a wonderful competition for all of you. Great hill--Dan's Dive instead of Look Out. Hastings will field two strong teams to give you a nice challenge for a dual meet. Thank you to all 57 of you who have already declared your race intentions for the 17th.
