MAST has a wonderful opportunity to earn money for our program thanks to the generosity of Steve and Gail Arnold and The Great Harvest Bread Company in Linden Hills. They are ‘giving’ us the bakery for the day on Sunday, January 8. Every dollar that comes into the bakery, MAST keeps. AND, we get to work at the bakery that day. There are lots of roles and responsibilities for parents and students to make this day a smashing success. Please read on…
SALESPEOPLE OF BREADS AND MUFFINS AND COOKIES – PRE-ORDERING (Dec 18-Jan 4)
Everyone should help sell products by collecting pre-orders. Hand out flyers in your neighborhood, at school, at your place or your parents' place of employment, etc. A pre-order form is attached, and we’ll have forms for you at practice. Note, you must collect the forms AND the payment (cash or checks made out to MAST) no later than Wednesday, Jan 4. Forms and money should be submitted to Christine Smalley (email@example.com) or Kelly Bent (Kellybent@yahoo.com). They will be at the race on Jan 3and at practice on Jan 4. If you need to make alternative arrangements to get the forms and payments to them, email one of them directly.
GREAT HARVEST MAST FUNDRAISER PARENT AND ATHLETE JOBS (Must sign up by Dec 28)
School Marketing Captains – Jan 3 to Jan 6
We’ll need a Marketing Captain at EACH school to head up promoting the event. This includes hanging posters and other creative ways to get the word out to your school.
Other Marketing – Day of Event Jan 8
On Sunday, Jan 8, we’ll also need students to promote the event in Linden Hills and at Lake Harriet. This involves handing out flyers while preferably adorned in MAST gear.
BAKERY JOBS – Day of Event Jan 8
We’ll need parents and students to run the bakery on Sunday Jan 8, starting at 5:30AM and ending at 6:00PM. This includes prepping breads, cookies, and muffins, slicing bread (parents only), bagging bread, working the register, cleaning, etc.
· Everyone working in the bakery must wear a hat, socks and closed toe shoes. Note, it gets pretty steamy, so T-shirts are suggested. MAST T-shirts would be ideal!
· If you have a nut allergy you should not work IN the bakery, but there are plenty of opportunities for you to help outside of the bakery.
Food Shelf Captain
At the end of the day, we’ll have extra product (hopefully not much!). It ALL needs to be cleared out of the bakery that night. We need someone to contact a food shelf, load it into their car, and deliver it (probably the next day). Students will help with the loading. A parent should oversee this role.
Pre Order Captain
All pre-orders MUST be picked up on Sunday, between 11:00-5:00. At 3:30, we need students to start calling people who have yet to pick up their product. If there is still pre-order product left after close, this parent must take the product back to their home and contact those who have not picked it up.
